With over 35 years in the entertainment industry, Michelle Guthrie has built a dynamic career spanning performance, talent management, producing, publicity, and event management.

Through Michelle Guthrie Presents, she has produced critically acclaimed productions, including Well Behaved Women (2021), which went on to a full season at Belvoir in 2024, Nice Work If You Can Get It (2022), nominated for six Sydney Theatre Awards, and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tell Me On A Sunday (2024) starring Erin Clare.

In 2010, Michelle founded Neglected Musicals, presenting script-in-hand musicals that have rarely or never been seen in Australia.  There have been 30 presentations over 15 years.  Associate Producer, credits include the award-winning Calamity Jane starring Virginia Gay and Monty Python’s SPAMALOT. Her work as an Executive Producer includes Razorhurst, Dubbo Championship Wrestling, and consulting on Into the Woods for Belvoir/Hayes Theatre Co.

As a founding member of Hayes Theatre Co, Michelle played a key role in the development of new music theatre through the New Musicals Australia program. She now serves as a judge for the APRA Professional Development Awards, supporting emerging talent in the industry.

Michelle has produced the Coogee Carols for Randwick City Council for over 23 years and delivers Christmas entertainment events across Sydney.  

With over two decades as one of Australia’s leading entertainment publicists, she has worked with Cyndi Lauper, Barry Humphries, Bernadette Peters, Kristin Chenoweth, The Dalai Lama and productions such as CATS, The Phantom of the Opera, and Guys & Dolls. Her career includes leadership roles at Peter & Ellen Williams Presents, Australian Creative Management, and The Really Useful Company.

In 2020, Michelle launched Michelle Guthrie Consulting & Communications, offering expert services in producing, marketing, publicity, and consulting to clients across Australia.
